Changes

In case you hadn't noticed, we now have a new title, "MommyLogue" You can thank Husband for this one, he's the one who came up with the term while babbling to Odin about how he wasn't paying attention to mommy monologuing to herself. (He was supposed to be listening to me, and was doing a very poor job of it!)
The change comes mostly due to the cleverness of my husband, and also I think that I just need the change, especially since this is mostly about my kids at this point, so why not change things around to reflect that?

Also, on a little bit more of a serious subject:

Dear readers,

In the next few weeks (I hope) you will be seeing some new blog posts, about things I have wished to comment on in my life but haven't for fear of upsetting someone, or making people angry. I have come to the conclusion that I started this blog for myself, to get my ideas 'on paper' as it were. And for fear of upsetting people I have been censoring myself, well no more!
That being said I'm not going to be going out of my way to be abrasive, but I'm not going to shy away from topics like I have been lately. Which is a minor reason as to why I haven't been updating as much as I would like to, well that and not having a whole lot of time to myself.
So yeah, I'm not going to go out of my way to offend people, but I'm not going to be treading as lightly as I have been with my writing.

Hope you enjoy the new design (still working on changing colors and the background) and look for more posts soon!

Justified Reasons for Mariticide*

I love Husband very much, and I feel that fact is well known and easily seen by our friends, however I find myself contemplating (as I was washing the numerous bottles and breast pumping apparatus) his untimely demise. You may be asking yourself  'what in the world would bring a loving wife to want to kill her husband?' I'll tell you, in one word: books.

In many words:
Husband has a habit of picking up whatever book I'm reading and either starting from the beginning (not normally a problem) or just turning to a random passage and starting to read. His latest transgression was picking up my book while I was doing the washing and starting to read. He -thankfully- started at the beginning, but this is the second book in the series! Even after I offered to get him the first book he kept reading! Now if nothing else he deserves punishment for that, but what he did next got my blood boiling. He put the book down, and said he was done, and he didn't even finish it!  Nor will he be reading the first in the series!

And this is not his first transgression, nor the worst. That would be Husband's dealings with the Harry Potter Series.
He watched:

Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets
Harry Potter and The Prisoner of Azkaban
Harry Potter and Goblet of Fire
Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix
Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince

then he READ:

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

Then he watched:
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 1
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows pt 2
Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone

I almost killed him.

*Now this being said, I am not condoning murder, that is quite a naughty thing to do. However, I am just telling my side of the story if Husband was to ever have an unfortunate accident. (He'd have it coming, especially if he was found with a book anywhere near him, as it probably was being read out of order)

Small tidy update

Just a little going on in our lives

Odin

  • Has both of his bottom front teeth poking through his gums
  • Is over 16 lbs 10 oz at last weigh in.
  • Loves to be tickled
  • Hates to sleep when his teeth are hurting him, which seems to be constant lately.
Loki
  • Has started to 'help' take care of Odin.
  • Is completely fascinated by brushing her teeth
  • Has started to sit on the potty, but we haven't actually got her to use it yet.
  • Is terrified of sleeping in her 'big girl bed'
  • Loves singing, even if she has no idea what the words are.
Husband
  • Has been helping out incredibly at home, doing dishes every day.
  • Husband and Loki have come up with 5 (I think) new games that only make sense to the two of them.
  • Knows Odin's moods better than I do, it's kind of funny to be on the opposite side of that, even though I'm the mom.
  • Is looking for a new creative outlet, right now it's Fire Emblem. Currently looking for a new outlet for after that's finished.
Myself
  • I have been still working full time.
  • I am on the last book (one more in the "Heroes" series, but it's not out yet) from the Percy Jackson/Heroes of Olympus Series.
  • I have also been playing Neverwinter when I have spare time (which isn't much)

Picture Show!

We went out to see Mimi and Papa today, and since it was a roping day, Loki got to help put away the horses.

Ber and Mimi had found an awesome toddler bed and mattress at a garage sale for me, and with a newly cleaned mattress pad (also a garage sale find from Mimi) Ber and I finally set up the it up so we can start transitioning the kids to different beds. (Odin's big enough that I worry about him in the bassinet even though he's within the weight guidelines)

Here's the view to the kids' room as you walk in

The toy chest was a gift from a friend of a friend when they moved, and it has served us well. This kid has so many stuffed animals!

Loki's new bed, complete with stuffed animal (minus her pillow since it's still in the crib)

The bed all made up, and then Loki decided she needed more pictures taken.

Next we have the kid's book nook, with shelves made by Papa and a good friend, and both rocking chairs made by Papa's parents.

Here's the crib (kinda messy still)

And lastly the new closet space, the bottom dresser belonged to Papa when he was young, and is going to hold Loki's clothes, where as the little blue cabinets will hold Odin's clothing.

Oh! I forgot some newer pictures of Odin!
This is about as far as we get rolling back to stomach, we've mastered stomach to back though.

Also, the first time I looked at his outfit this morning I thought it said 'Mommy's Major Hulk' and I kept wondering why it wasn't green until I re-read it a little later.

Well, that's all for now! I'm hoping to write up an update monday since I have the day off.

Coming Soon!

For all those inquiring minds out there, here's what you can expect from me in the near future:

  • New news on Odin and his most recent doctor check up (good lord is that boy gotten chunky)
  • New tales of Loki & Odin
  • News on the homefront
  • Fun budget things that I've learned recently and have been putting into play
  • List updates
  • Proof (from me) that meal planning not only saves you time and grief but also money.
  • Books are awesome!
  • (yes that was refering to -hopefully- some new book reviews soon. I'm working on finishing the second book and then devouring the third before I write my actual review. But I keep distracting myself with different books.)
    • Soulless (the manga version)
    • The Zombies Series (Monster Island, Monster Nation, Monster Planet)
    • The Heroes of Olympus (No I haven't read the Percy Jackson series yet, I'm going about it backwards for once in my life - yes you may be shocked)
  • And (if you're all very nice to me) some short stories that I've been working on when there is a lull at work - which isn't a very common occurrence- so there's not very much to them yet.
