Boy Thoughts

As odd as it sounds, I'm actually nervous about having a little boy. I didn't have this same feeling of nerves with I was expecting Loki, mostly because -obviously- I am a girl, so therefore I kinda know how things work in 'girl world.' How girls respond to each other and what not. (Also I'm not quite so worried about 'the talk' considering Loki and I have the same parts, and yes, I am already thinking that far in the future.)

But I was never really around little boys either when I was growing up or when I would babysit. I know they're a lot more rough and tumble than girls, but I have no idea with how to deal with the 'guy world' and their way of doing things. I just worry that I would be able to help him figure social situations out because I have no idea how to do it myself.

Also, Loki has yet to pee on me, I'm not looking forward to Odin doing so. (Everyone says it'll happen, and I'm fairly inclined to believe them)

  1. The peeing on you thing- not a problem if he is uncircumcised. You get a few seconds warning (the balloon effect) and he can't manage the distance that circumcised boys get. Our son only ever peed on the doctor when she pulled him out (and said he had big feet). I would have peed on her, too.

I have been truly surprised by just how different he is from our daughter- I always figured teh boy vs. girl thing was more a matter of personality, but he has been rambunctious where she was calm his whole life. She liked to sit and play for a long time with dolls, puzzles, books and learning games. He's all about cars and dinosaurs and animals and STICKS and DIRT. With sound effects. Always the Vroom-vroom and rawr and toot-toot, even in his dreams, sometimes.
