New Job

I had my first day of training today, and I am so excited! It seems like this (hopefully) will be a very good fit for me. I just have to buckle down and study in order to pass the testing at the end of training, which Husband has been helping me with, cause he's awesome. He had his first day of watching Loki all by himself for over 8 hours, and I think he did pretty well.
The only tragedy was the cabinets are now a little more marked up and Loki has lost crayon privileges for a little while. (Thankfully Mom gave me one of those Magic Erasers and it works awesomely to get crayon off white paint.)

All in all I was very excited, I just hope I can keep this level of gung ho-ness up when the studying gets rough.

Consistency and Change

Anyone who has gotten to know me, can very much agree with this fact about me: I hate change. I fight it with every fiber of my being. I like being set in my way, having my routine (thanks FlyLady) but with all the upheaval at work it's hard to keep everything in order. We are just having trouble keeping a full staff at work, which leads to more stress for everyone, and me having to schedule all sorts of arrangements for babysitting which is not always fun for my babysitters.
All in all I'm just hoping that the next person hired ends up working out and not being a flighty girl who says she'll show up and then never does, causing me to have to stay an extra THREE HOURS while my parents are waiting in my apartment for me to get home till 3am. It's just not an ideal situation.

Ugh, anyways, Husband has been helping out a lot around the house, and I have really been appreciating it. We've started to make a habit of not only cleaning the living room every night, but Husband vacuums it for me while I sweep the kitchen and take care of dinner dishes. He's really been stepping up lately, and it's been a big help to me, not to mention one less thing for me to worry or stress about.

A little bit of a complaint post

Work has been particularly grueling lately. I've finished my first week of 44 hours, and am part way through my second. And sadly there looks like no end in sight. The girl who was supposed to move down from KC in 3 weeks now can't for one reason or another. So we're stuck with insane hours and only 4 people working to cover a store that's open 24 hours a day 7 days a week. It's more than a little ridiculous to expect us to be able to do this all the time. I'm in a constant state of sore body and exhaustion. Plus every other weekend I'm having to work 12 hours on both Saturday and Sunday, and that totally sucks.
But at least the payout will be nice. Would be nicer at more than minimum wage, but I guess it's better than nothing.
I can't wait till my schedule slows down. Hopefully I'll be able to research more on phlebotomy and how to get my certification. (which is proving to be most difficult.)

more ugh!

I'm changing the normal hours I work, to actual normal hours I get to work since Husband is home more now. So I'll be working between noon and 4 pm (not necessarily the whole time, but those will be normal hours of operation) along with still working from 10 pm till midnight.
I think this will work out well for all of us right now.

Lots of changing going on, but I'm back to keeping a regular schedule for household chores and that just makes me feel so much better already, it's a little ridiculous as to how much that helps me lower my stress level.

Cleaning and organizing

I'm working on getting the house back into shape, especially with all the changes that we are hoping to happen soon everything needs to be in a much more organized fashion and so I'm working on that now.
Besides, having a cleaner house makes me feel better about myself, and lately I need that. So...cleaning has been happening. the kitchen still has a little ways to go, but it's getting there. Next to conquer today will be the clean laundry, and tidying up the bathroom. But for now I am going to have a little relax and crafty time, because by Saturday any plastic bag that has not been turned into yarn or is being used as a trash bag is getting recycled and taken out of this house, I have too many bags as it is.

I also heard back from my boss again, and now my paycheck is expected to arrive tomorrow or Thursday by fed-ex overnight mail. So, there's that good news at least. Still looking into the information to become my own IBO, especially since Husband knows a few people who are wanting to work from home, as do I. So if I did start up my own business to contract out to Arise they could work under me, which would mean a lot more work for me, along with loads of paperwork (but I do so love my paperwork) So that plan is still under review, but is on the table to be examined.
