Your brain on horror movies

I'm worn out after a long day, the kids are finally both asleep. It's my turn to crawl into bed and float off to dreamland. My blanket is spread out over my body, tucked under my feet. My head cushioned by the soft pillow. I'm all ready to fall asleep.
*Brain* 'hey, remember that horror movie that you saw 5 years ago with -insert random scary movie scene here- wouldn't that be just crazy if it happened right now

That being said, I'm not about to stop reading/watching horror stuffs, I enjoy it. Let's just say I'm very glad to have a big red-head sleeping next to me to help defend me

7 month interview

Today we have an interview for you to read between a mother and her son. Now since we don't speak fluent baby, we got a translator. He said his name was Doctor, and he spoke baby (was quite indignant if anyone expressed doubt)

Name: Odin

Age: 7 months

Favorite Activities: chewing, rolling over, giggling with daddy

Favorite Food: milk!

Favorite Sister: What's a sister?

Favorite toy: KEYS!

How have you been improving lately?
  • rolling over: got that down pat,
  • crawling: I haven't quite gotten the whole thing down, but I do move forward, mommy calls it 'inchworming' the things that hold me up don't move well yet.
  • talking: Daddy keeps trying to make me say 'dada' but I just smile and giggle at him.
  • grabbing: I can grab and hold things now, all the better for me to get things in my mouth to chew on!
  • teething: I have two teeth in, and my top two teeth are starting to come in now.

And now, the traditional pictures of a monthly interview.

The only rattle worth his time

his 'walker' his favorite place to sit aside from a lap

His favorite toy on the walker

This is from a few months ago, when we first got the walker, still his favorite toy.
Although now he has figured out if he wants to chew he gets the sides, not trying to get a grip on the circular part.

Long story short

As to why I haven't been posting very often:
Last week I worked 49 hours, this week I'm scheduled for 47, next week for 48. So I probably won't be around much until my stay-cation in September.

Loki vs Toddler Bed

So far the bed is losing the battle. But I have some funny and cute pictures from it of odd positions I've found my daughter asleep in.
This was during nap time. Found her in front of the closet.
She's not allowed to leave her room, so she sleeps in the doorway a lot.
One of the few times she was near her bed to sleep.
I laughed at this one, reminds me of the witch from "Wizard of Oz"
Blanket from Mawma, it's one of her favorites.
 She's a blanket horder
This would have gotten her in trouble if she wasn't asleep. (too far out of her room.) I think she just moved in her sleep though.

This is last night, she fell asleep coloring.

Big Girl Bed Day 2 * Updated *

So over the next week I'm going to catalog our progress through pictures and posts here on the MommyLogue about how our little Loki is doing with transitioning to her very own big girl bed.

Day 2 Nap time:
We started out like this:

And somehow ended up like this:

She didn't really try to escape, but she did get a warning with she got a little loud, only for me to find out she needed a diaper change, so she didn't really get in trouble for that.

Day 2 Bed time:
She kept wanting to be wrapped up cocoon like for bed, which is adorable. That blanket is actually Husband's made for him by Mawma when he was little.

It took a while for her to fall asleep this time, i caught her quite a few times almost outside her room in the blanket, but she never left, which made me quite proud.
When she finally did fall asleep I found her like this:

I know it's hard to see, but she's curled up on her bed! Only the second night too! Lets see if it keeps up.

*** Update***
Well it did not keep up, Loki woke up around 4am, (after one of the many times Odin was up last night) and it took a while to get her to stay in her room and quiet before she would fall back asleep, and to be honest I expected to be woken up by little hands scaring the daylights out of me of her coming into our room. But thankfully that didn't happen. (kind of dreading that also, although I'm sure with how bad me waking up screaming scares her it won't happen too often) But right now Loki is asleep in her doorway, I'd take a picture but I"m afraid it would wake her up.

Big Girl Bed Day 1

So now she has no choice, Loki only has the option of her toddler bed or the floor.

If you couldn't guess the floor won, and we had quite the fight to get her to stay. (Which I talked about last post)
When she finally really fell asleep she was in this position.

Achievement Unlocked

Today Husband and Suv took Loki's crib out of her room, leaving only the toddler bed.
So far we've had lots of tears, a few arguments and a few fits before we reached an agreement:
If she stays in her room and isn't too loud, her bedroom door will stay open. If she gets noisy or leaves, the door will be shut (still letting in light, but not as much as she likes)
Since the agreement has been reached the crying is calmed and she has not come out of her room.

Let us see how the rest of the night goes...

***UPDATE***

Loki is asleep, but refuses to use the bed.
Instead she's sleeping on the rug with the blanket MawMa made her
