I'm horrible at titles

I never really know exactly what to say for them. As for us today we're doing pretty good. Sweetheart stayed up all night in order to try and get used to the third shift schedule since she starts tonight. I've been falling asleep before 11 now, and waking up before Loki does in the morning, which is kind of nice so I can wake up a little bit before I have to be in charge of a child. I guess Flylady does know what she's talking about. : )

Tonight we're having one of our friends from our monthly dinner group over for Orange Chicken, I'm so looking forward to how it turns out, it was always my favorite dish at Promise Thai before it was closed. It's another chicken dish were I have to brown the chicken before putting it in the crock pot. But thankfully it didn't need to be cooked all the way through, just browned a little bit. I'm having to cook it on high, because I got going a little late on the meal prep, which is kinda silly considering I've been awake since 6am.

Still can't focus worth anything, unfortunately. which makes it a little hard to do anything. Husband is helping a lot though, and has been much more supportive than I could ever wish for. He's also been helping watch Loki when my temper starts getting short with her explorations as I'm trying to clean or cook. My hormones are affecting me earlier and more severely than they did while I was pregnant with Loki, I don't ever remember feeling this out of control of my moods.
But Loki's been pretty sweet and cuddly when I'm not feeling good and all I want to do is just lay on the couch because moving takes too much energy. I suppose I'm really lucky to have such a wonderful (mostly) calm daughter.

So Much Chicken!

There are so many crock pot recipes that use chicken, it's a little ridiculous. But alas, we are enjoying it, it's kind of fun discovering how yummy chicken can be.

In more mundane news, Sweetheart is at her first day or orientation for the CNA job, I haven't heard back as to whether or not they are going to offer me the job as well. But I placed a call out today, and left a message with her to get back to me.

In more cooking type news MawMa is coming over for dinner tonight, which will be nice, we haven't seen her for a few weeks since she was sick last week. So tonight we're making Chicken and Potatoes I didn't realize that I would need to actually cook the chicken before putting it in the crock pot, so it's taking much longer than I thought it would originally. But it looks like it's going to turn out tasting pretty good, or at least I hope so.

**The chicken turned out great, almost everyone had seconds, and there was barely any we could have for left overs. MawMa had a good name for it - Chicken Roast - it seems to fit, so I might keep that for the name.**

In pregancy news, I hate irrational emotions, it's just so not fair or nice and it doesn't make any sense why I am just angry for no damn reason. I'm getting rather sick of it to be honest. But, for all the hardships that I have had emotionally, I am very glad to be preggers.

So it starts...

My complete inability to keep going with anything for more than 30 minutes at a time. I was hoping that I wouldn't be this unfocused this early in the pregnancy, but I suppose that the fact my body is already changing (like seriously, my abdomen is already starting to tighten up, not sure if that's a good or bad thing)

I had my interview with the post office today, and to be honest, I don't think they are going to offer me the job, but they did encourage me to look at other offers that were available and see if anything else on their website might be a good fit. So I'm still waiting to hear from the CNA job, but hopefully will hear back tomorrow.

BEST NEWS EVER!!!!!

Okay, so most people know that we have all been looking for jobs like crazy lately. Well, Sweetheart had gotten a call yesterday about a CNA job out in Andover hiring for 2nd and 3rd shift. Since she needed to go out there for her interview, she suggested I come along as well so I could fill out an application and see if maybe I could get an interview as well.

So we went out today and filled out an application, Sweetheart had her interview, and was told she would be contact Monday, but so long as everything went well her orientation would start this Tuesday. When I went in for my interview, I found out Sweetheart got the last 3rd shift job available at this time, but they have a 2nd shift job they could give me, with the hope that one of the girls currently on 3rd is interested in switching shifts, so hopefully I won't be on 2nd for more than a month or so before I can switch over to 3rd, which is what I really want. But, I did have to tell the DON that my CNA license is inactive at this time. Her response was so awesome, she just said "give me a week and we'll have that reinstated and you can start the week after Sweetheart"
Plus, I also have an interview for the Post Office on Monday. I don't know if it will be a better fit than going back to CNA work, but I'm still going to go to the interview and see what they think of me and if they want me to work for them.
So, Monday is going to be a big day for me, no matter what. Although, I do have even more better news that a possible job (This has seriously been like the best 12 hours of my life....like ever

I'M PREGNANT!!!!

Yeah, how's that for good news. Like I said...best 12 hours of my life...like ever.

I have a bad case

of the 'I don't want to do any things'  Combined with the fact that we all have had horrible runny noises and stuffy heads I have been falling behind on my lists and the housework. Thankfully it looks like Loki is starting to get over her runny nose, although she is still going though getting her eye teeth, but thankfully they don't bother her too much.

The physical pain that had been bothering me for so long is now all but gone, and they still have no clues as to what caused it. But now I have just felt like an emotional wreck lately, I have been crying at the drop of a hat, and get upset at the silliest things. Husband and Sweetheart have been so understanding and helpful, but I can tell it's starting to wear them down.
I feel like I'm losing control of everything, but Husband says that might be a good thing, that I hold on to too much, that I control too much. Maybe it will be better if I do just let go, but it feels like I can't just stop clinging to everything.

I feel that the control is the only thing keeping me together sometimes.

yuck

My head is plugged up, my nose is stuffy and I can't really breathe, so all the breathing through my mouth is making my throat sore.

In short...I'm just a little miserable.

New ideas for an old blog

I know I haven't been posting much lately, so I have decided that I'm going to try to go in a little different direction and see if that will help me staying on track with my blogging habit.

For my birthday my mom and dad got me my very first crock pot. And I am loving it so far. Today is the fourth time it's been in use, and so far 2 of the 3 recipes have been a hit.

1) Chinese Lemon Chicken - the flavoring was delicious, but the chicken was a little dry, and I didn't think to add some water to make sure that the chicken was fully covered, which is the reasons why this recipe was not a hit, but it's under the 'try again' folder and hopefully next time it will work out better, but I think I did pretty good for my first ever try.

2) Pot Roast - I've never liked pot roast, growing up I thought it was disgusting, but Sweetheart loves pot roast, so I decided that it would be our second recipe to try. Let me tell you what, I like pot roast now. Now due to Husband hating onions, we put in very large slices in order to easily take them out, but still get the flavor, We also added potatoes to this recipe and next time will use more carrots. (surprisingly Husband loves cooked carrots)

3) Meatloaf - Now I have always loved meatloaf, so I was slightly nervous to make it myself. But I was pleasantly surprised. I loved it, and so did Sweetheart, Husband, not so much. As stated above Husband does not like onion, so there was no onion added to the meatloaf, I also didn't add mushrooms or sage to it. (I'm a little boring with my cooking sometimes) I loved the topping for this recipe though, especially not having to put it on at the beginning, I think it tasted much better that way.

and for today (drum roll please) we are having Margarita Chicken. Now, this is cool because it calls for frozen chicken, unfortunately I didn't think that through when I got groceries last week, and so the chicken is now frozen to the container it came it....future note I will keep track of.
So now I am waiting for the chicken to thaw a little bit so I can get it away from the styrofoam, but I have the mix all ready. I'm debating adding a little water to it, or just turning the chicken halfway through the cooking to get an even coating. I suppose I'll ask Sweetheart her opinion before it gets cooking.

Although I could ask that question of everyone, do you add water to the mix to make sure your chicken/beef/meat stuffs is covered, or do you turn?
